The Scarlet Letter
8:00 PM

This brilliant, unusual adaptation by Phyllis Nagy of the classic novel has a decidedly contemporary slant. Although set in Puritan times, it deals with issues which make it almost a feminist deconstruction of the novel even as it preserves the familiar story of Hester Prynne, Roger Chillingworth and Arthur Dimmesdale. The play was originally presented Off Broadway by Classic Stage Company. “Exhilarating and daringly original.” N.Y. Law Journal. “Splendid.” Town and Village. Call 800.523.2820 or 910.343.3664.
